Glass Angel Stained: A Story of the Nobilis

Imperators are the fundemental building blocks of reality – the Imperator of Night, Time, and the Seas, for instance, doesn’t just have power over those things – it is Night, it is Time, and it is the Seas. The Imperators empower the Nobilis, granting them a shard of their own souls to link the Nobilis to their Estates, giving them a portion of the divine and jurisdiction over that portion of reality. In the war against the Excrucians, beings from beyond this universe who wish to unmake it, the Imperators are both the generals and the targets, and sometimes they die.

Most of the time, an Imperator’s Nobilis die with it, but sometimes they survive for a time, orphaned and living on borrowed time. Such has happened to the Powers of Anaharath, the Glass Angel, slain by the Excrucians. The Nobilis of other Imperators circle ’round supposedly to pay their respects to the fallen, but also to woo the slain Angel’s Nobilis into their own families. An explosive mixture of grief and desperation can prove destructive for even the fundamental forces of the universe.

Gameplay wise, expect a Parlour style LARP with fairly simple “spend a point, do a thing” rules. Most of the tension is in the relationships between the various characters instead of conflict with an outside force. Expect characters to have a duality to them – they have very humanlike appearances, personalities and motivations, but at the same time are otherworldly embodiments of the forces of reality. The main media touchstones would be the graphic novels/tv series Sandman, and the video game Hades. Play this game if you like weird supernatural family dramas..

If you wish to sign up for Glass Angel Stained, please click here. It is running on Saturday, February 14, from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. This event is organized by Wade Lahoda.

Characters for this game are pre-written, and will be distributed before the game starts. Costumes are encouraged, and try stay to in-theme with the Power you are representing. Nobilis is a game about drama and imagination, so when in doubt, err on the side of over-the-top.

Signups for this LARP are on a first come, first serve basis. There is a minimum number of 10 players for the event to run, and it caps at 20. Players 13+ only, please.
