The Last Supper

Arguably as much a storytelling game & exploration of alternative theology / history as a LARP, The Last Supper puts players in the sandals of the Apostles during the biblical Last Supper. Over the course of the meal, the players will collectively build the future history of Christianity via a series of vignettes emerging from their discussion. Runner-up award-winner from Iron Game Chef 2005, resurrected (heh) here for SmallCon 2026

Apostle names (and a very light backstory) will be handed out at the start of the event; final destinies (including that of Judas) are determined in play. Don’t sweat gender, patriarchal history is just one outcome “our playgroup” ended up with (gee, thanks). The game mechanics will be explained onsite, but a copy will also be emailed to everyone in advance and it would be helpful to have read them first.”

Players are asked to contribute a dish to the meal (prepared, not purchased) as part of the sense of fellowship desired. In addition, players must be prepared to narrate scenes from future history based on constraints set by the game mechanics, exploring the consequences of the slant their Apostle’s writings / teachings will lend to the world. Being religious is not required, but a willingness to be thoughtful about, respectful of, and imaginative within the context of, religion absolutely is.

If you wish to sign up for The Last Supper, please click here. It is running on Sunday, February 15, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This event is organized by Eric Finley.

Please note the game involves a potluck meal, and all players are expected to contribute something homemade if at all possible. Allergy and other dietary concerns will be collected as part of signup and communicated before the game, so that people know what to avoid when preparing their dish. There will be some e-mail co-ordination before the event to avoid the 12 tuna casseroles problem.

Costumes for this game are optional. If you wish to costume for this, simple and pre-modern is the guideline. A belted tunic or plain robe would work well in-theme.

Signups for this LARP are on a first come, first serve basis. There is a minimum number of 8 players for the event to run, and it caps at 12. Players 13+ only, please.
